Teodoro, a third generation coffee grower, learned the necessary skills to produce good coffee from his father, who grew the Bourbon coffee varietal in Flores, Marcala.
In 1996, Teodoro left coffee growing and enlisted in the army, but returned to tend to his farm full time after 4 years of military service. Upon his return, he transitioned the farm to use fully organic agricultural practices.
Teodoro is also a founding member of the COMSA Coop, which supports small producers in the region with financing, technical advice and marketing assistance for their coffee production.
